This so far, is my favorite article. It is easy to understand and explains all the basics of my topic.

The article explains what anxiety disorders are, how they come about, and how people live with them. If we can understand how they are created, we may be able to treat them better, because right now treatment is not that effective.

Proximate mechanisms- Very near or next, as in space, time, or order

Epidemiologic- The branch of medicine that deals with the study of the causes, distribution, and control of disease in populations.

Placebo- A substance containing no medication and prescribed or given to reinforce a patient's expectation to get well.

 

  • Detail the strengths/weaknesses of this article.

The strengths are that it starts with the basics and explains everything before building on it. There weren’t many weaknesses, although when they talked about evolution, it was a little confusing.

 

  • How might this article be useful to you in your further studies and career?

It lists the basics of the disorder I am studying and why this disorder occurs. It suggests understanding anxiety better, so we can create a more effective treatment.
